Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic | Local CouncilWe are currently seeking experienced Light/Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanics to play a key role in keeping the fleet of garbage trucks and other heavy vehicles, and equipment in top condition.
Based at the Thornleigh Depot, this hands-on role is ideal for experienced mechanics looking to work in a supportive, safety-focused team.Monday - Friday.
Fulltime hoursKey Responsibilities:Service, maintain and repair a wide range of heavy vehicles and plant equipmentDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and transmission faultsKeep accurate maintenance and service recordsMaintain workshop safety and assist with parts inventoryEnsure all work complies with WHS and environmental standardsWhat You'll Need:Mechanic Trade Licence:



Light or Heavy Diesel or Plant MechanicProven experience working with heavy vehicles and machinerySolid knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systemsExperience with diagnostic tools and ECMsMR Driver's LicenceStrong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of WHS and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulationsAustralian citizenship or permanent residency requiredHands-on, physical role requiring lifting up to 25kgPPE provided and required at all times
