Project and Technical Officer - Parks Play Sport and BeachesProject and Technical Officer – Parks Play Sport and BeachesPermanent, full-timeLET'S EXPLORE THE JOB Join a team managing community infrastructure that makes a lasting difference across Lake Macquarie.As a Project and Technical Officer, you will be responsible for ongoing planning and management of assets and infrastructure at Council's parks, playgrounds, sports facilities, beaches and other open spaces.
A key role in the Community Assets Management team, you will develop, implement, monitor and review systems and processes to manage assets across their life cycle and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.In this role you will:Develop forward capital works programs for parks, play, sports and beach assets.Help develop asset management plans by providing current asset data, procedures, and appropriate performance indicatorsAnalyse asset condition and life cycle costingProvide timely, professional and technically sound advice to internal and external stakeholders on best practice asset management including strategies that consider financial sustainability and manage riskInitiate projects to replace aging or failed assets including preliminary investigations, feasibility and stakeholder engagementDevelop and maintain up to date asset data and help improve data systemsExtract, review and audit data from asset registers for financial and strategic reporting including asset revaluations and Special Schedule 7 reporting.Ensure a speedy, courteous and technically sound response to all enquiries from Councillors, the community and other departments within the agreed timeframe.Read the position statementhereand learn more about this exciting chance.LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOUWe're looking for an experienced project professional who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering outcomes that benefit the community.To be successful, you will bring:A degree, diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Project Management,
Building and Construction or Recreation PlanningExperience delivering civil works, building or recreation facility projects, including project budget managementStrong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skillsProven ability to work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders and senior leadersExperience preparing or reviewing technical specifications, contract documentation, policies, procedures or funding applicationsExperience applying quality assurance, workplace health and safety, financial and risk management principlesKnowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle costing and project capitalisation processesLET'S REVEAL THE PERKSThis position provides:Competitive salary from $98,091 to $113,998 per year + 12% superannuationEnterprise Agreement pay increases applyCommencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range35-hour working week, 4-day weekLong service leave after 5 yearsTraining and development opportunitiesCorporate fitness program from as little as $8 per weekPlus more perks!
