About the Role
As a Family Research Officer with KARI's Genealogy Team, you'll play a critical role in helping Aboriginal children, young people, and families strengthen their connection to culture and identity.
Using your cultural knowledge and research skills,



you'll build comprehensive family trees to confirm Aboriginality, support cultural planning, and contribute to a deeper sense of belonging for future generations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Conduct family research and produce detailed genograms to support identity and cultural heritageSupport internal and external requests for genealogy services, including fee-for-serviceAdvise caseworkers and stakeholders on cultural considerationsEngage with communities and build trusted networksParticipate in team supervision, planning, and continuous improvementChampion KARI's values and advocate for the rights and recognition of Aboriginal people

Skills and Experience
