With over 200 dedicated professionals, we pride ourselves on teamwork, safety, and making a real difference every day.The RoleAs a Patient Transport Officer, you will play a vital role in providing safe, compassionate, and professional non-emergency patient transport services.
Working alongside a clinician, you will transport patients between healthcare facilities and private residences while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing throughout every journey.This role includes, but is not limited to:Providing secure and efficient non-emergency patient transportAssisting patients with mobility, transfers, and stretcher operationsMonitoring patient wellbeing and reporting any changes in condition to the treating clinicianMaintaining ambulance vehicles, equipment, and clinical suppliesCommunicating effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and control staffCompleting accurate patient care records and transport documentationAdhering to infection prevention, safety,
and clinical standards at all timesAbout YouStrong commitment to patient care, safety, and professionalismExperience in patient transport, healthcare, or pre-hospital careExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamFlexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and overtime as requiredConfidence driving emergency or commercial vehicles in metropolitan and regional areasAbility to maintain accurate and timely documentationMandatory ComplianceCertificate 3 in NEPT, Diploma in Emergency Healthcare3 x COVID-19 vaccinations and annual influenza vaccinationCategory A immunisations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB screening, Pertussis, dTpa)Relevant Patient Transport qualifications (or willingness to obtain where applicable)Full Australian work rightsCurrent Australian Driver Licence with a safe driving recordAbility to obtain a National Police Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC)State Medical Emergency is committed to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce.
