This is a maternity leave position (from 14th September **** for 12 months).
Based in Lismore, NSW ****, this role is fundamental to providing high-quality early childhood education and care to our young learners.
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a crucial role in fostering the development, wellbeing, and learning outcomes of children in our care, whilst creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports each child's unique needs and potential.Key responsibilitiesPlanning and delivering developmentally appropriate learning activities and experiences that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical developmentSupervising and safeguarding children to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and comfort at all timesBuilding positive relationships with children and creating a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating learning environmentObserving and assessing children's development, documenting their progress, and communicating observations with parents, carers, and colleaguesSupporting children's transitions throughout the day and assisting with routines such as meals, rest time, and personal hygieneCollaborating with colleagues to maintain a clean, organised, and safe learning space that complies with relevant regulations and standardsCommunicating regularly with families about their child's development, activities, and wellbeingImplementing behaviour guidance strategies that are positive, consistent, and supportiveStaying current with early childhood education best practices and participating in professional development opportunitiesWhat we're looking forA relevant qualification in early childhood education, such as a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent recognised qualificationCurrent First Aid and CPR certification,



or willingness to obtain certification promptlyA current Working with Children Check (or eligibility to obtain one) as required by New South Wales regulationsDemonstrated understanding of child development theories and pedagogical approaches in early childhood educationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with children, families, and colleaguesStrong organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple responsibilities effectivelyA genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's holistic developmentAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst maintaining individual initiative and responsibilityFlexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic early childhood environmentAn understanding of and commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and inclusion principlesExperience working with diverse families and culturally responsive practice is highly valuedWhat we offerAt Lismore Preschool Incorporated, we value our staff and are committed to creating a positive, supportive workplace.
