As our business continues to grow, we are seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our team and support our expanding operations.Position SummaryThe Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with Australian road regulations.
This role requires solid technical expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on heavy vehicles, including trucks and commercial vehiclesDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic equipment and manual testing methodsRepair or replace defective components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering systems,
and hydraulic componentsConduct routine preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtimeComplete roadworthiness checks and ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standardsMaintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts usage reportsLiaise with service advisors, parts departments, and management regarding repair requirementsEnsure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer standards and workplace proceduresAdhere to workplace health and safety policies and maintain a clean and safe working environmentProvide on-site, breakdown, or roadside assistance when requiredSkills and QualificationsRelevant trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or equivalentProven experience working with heavy vehicles, trucks, or commercial fleetsStrong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, braking systems, and electrical systemsExperience using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manualsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication and documentation skillsValid driver's licence (HR/HC licence preferred but not essential)Preferred ExperienceExperience working with European or international truck brandsExperience in fleet maintenance environmentsFamiliarity with OEM service standards and warranty proceduresWorking ConditionsFull-time position based in Arndell Park, NSWWorkshop-based role with occasional travel for field service or breakdown supportOvertime may be required based on operational needsWhat We OfferCompetitive remuneration packageCareer development and training opportunitiesSupportive and growing team environmentOpportunity to work with a rapidly expanding heavy vehicle brand in Australia
