The Opportunity
We are looking for a Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at Myoora Homestead in our Riverina Murray Region.We have a permanent part-time prospect available that includes being available for weekend work.
You will make a difference to our residents by facilitating positive health and wellbeing options for individuals, their families, and carers.
As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will drive the energy, engagement, and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities.
You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs which empower our resident's choices and independence.
In fulfilling the role, it is essential that you have:
The ability to plan, organise, and lead activities for our residents that will meet social and recreational needs while also promoting independence and increasing quality of life.The ability to assess and document the effectiveness of the programs,



by tracking residents' progress and changing the programs as neededMinimum of a Certificate IV in Leisure and LifestylePrevious experience within an aged care settingHighly developed organisation and time management skillsThe ability to solve problems independentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAn understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and OutcomesComputer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, internet/intranet skills, email communication, and confidence with smart phones and digital devicesKnowledge of Work Health and Safety
