Medical Officer - Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
Job Type: Permanent position | Part time position
Job Description
A compelling opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Medical Officer to join a premier Coronary Care Unit (CCU) within a sophisticated, dual-site private hospital precinct.
This facility stands as a regional leader in cardiac excellence, featuring two advanced cardiac catheterisation labs, fourteen modern operating theatres, and a comprehensive intensive care infrastructure.
The practice environment is defined by a high-acuity caseload and a commitment to innovation, supported by an integrated health precinct that includes onsite radiology, pathology, and specialist consulting suites.
This role is ideal for clinicians with a budding or established interest in cardiology, acute medicine, or critical care, offering a professional setting where clinical excellence is the daily standard.
The successful clinician will work within a collaborative, consultant-led team composition, providing essential medical supervision for interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery patients.
The department is bolstered by a highly experienced nursing team and a multidisciplinary network that ensures seamless patient management.
Support is comprehensive, featuring clear escalation pathways and robust clinical governance.
While primarily focused on acute cardiac care, the role provides access to sophisticated administrative and Clinical Data Management (CDM) systems,

allowing the medical team to focus on delivering timely, safe, and effective patient interventions.
Professional growth is deeply embedded in the unit's culture, with significant support for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training.
The position offers a unique vista point for those pursuing Physician or Cardiology training, providing exposure to complex cardiac pathologies.
For more senior clinicians, there are rewarding supervisor opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
The hospital champions clinical autonomy appropriate to the practitioner's experience level, encouraging officers to take an active role in ward rounds, clinical handovers, and the management of acute clinical issues within a supportive framework.
Recognizing the need for sustainability in acute care, the hospital offers flexible working arrangements across permanent or temporary contracts, with both full-time and part-time options available.
The 24/7 rotating roster is designed to support a healthy work-life balance while ensuring continuous patient safety.
Beyond the hospital walls, the location offers exceptional lifestyle perks in a prestigious coastal suburb.
Residents enjoy immediate access to world-class surf beaches, a vibrant local cafe culture, and the professional advantages of a major regional hub, providing a perfect backdrop for a fulfilling career in specialist medicine.
