Based in Toowoomba, this position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality psychiatric care while contributing to
service development, teaching, governance and evidence-based practice
. You'll work across diverse community and inpatient settings, making a meaningful and lasting impact on young people, families and communities.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist within
Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS)
, you will provide expert clinical care across a broad service profile, supporting recovery-focused outcomes through team-oriented, consumer-centred practice.
Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and management for children and adolescents
Work across community CYMHS teams and the
Adolescent Inpatient Unit
Deliver care across Toowoomba and surrounding rural facilities
Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement and quality initiatives
Support education, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and trainees
Promote evidence-based, culturally responsive and family-inclusive care
This role is ideally suited to a psychiatrist motivated by

You will also have:
Fellowship of the
Royal Australian and Current Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
or equivalent
Eligibility for specialist registration with
AHPRA
Experience or interest in child and youth mental health across inpatient and community settings
A collaborative approach and strong multidisciplinary engagement
