Early Career Consultant - Emissions and Climate
Support Australian and global clients on climate strategy and emissions accounting.
Work with clients in Renewable Energy, Resources, Chemicals, Power, and Technology sectors to address sustainability challenges.
Assist organisations in reducing GHG emissions, managing climate risks, and advancing circular economy initiatives.
Help clients optimise environmental, safety, and social performance while navigating societal and economic sustainability issues.
Contribute to climate change and sustainability strategy development, including climate risk assessment, scenario analysis, and resilience strategy.
Analyze complex datasets, including carbon emissions, to support compliance and strategic priorities.
Your Role
Here's what you will be doing:
Support Australian and global clients on climate strategy and emissions accounting.
Work with clients in Renewable Energy, Resources, Chemicals, Power, and Technology sectors to address sustainability challenges.
Assist organisations in reducing GHG emissions, managing climate risks, and advancing circular economy initiatives.
Help clients optimise environmental, safety, and social performance while navigating societal and economic sustainability issues.
Contribute to climate change and sustainability strategy development, including climate risk assessment, scenario analysis, and resilience strategy.
Analyze complex datasets, including carbon emissions, to support compliance and strategic priorities.
About You
The company is looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
Relevant tertiary education in science, economics, finance, public policy, law, and/or engineering.
Experience or demonstrated interest in Australian climate policy and regulations through coursework, internships, research, or applied projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word,
with ability to quickly learn new systems.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
Robust analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to interpret complex numerical information and present it effectively in reports.
Motivation and flexibility to work across different technical disciplines.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Confidence in engaging and consulting with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Additional advantages include:
Prior consulting experience.
Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
Familiarity with emissions accounting and modelling.
Knowledge of Australian emissions regulations and processes (e.g., NGER, Safeguard Mechanism, Clean Energy Regulator, Greenhouse Gas Protocol).
Understanding of climate risk assessments and scenario analysis.
Knowledge of supply chain and lifecycle emissions footprints.
Basic proficiency in Python or R.
