St Hilda's School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Health & Physical Education Teacher to join our Middle and Senior School team. This is a rewarding twelve-month fixed-term opportunity, covering parental leave, for an educator who is passionate about inspiring young women to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement. This position will be required to teach students in Years 7 – 10.

About the Position
Reporting to the Head of Faculty – Health & Physical Education, the successful candidate will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Health and Physical Education syllabus for girls in Years 7 -10. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant sporting culture, work alongside a collaborative team of educators, and support the holistic development of students through physical activity, health and wellbeing.
About You
Teaching Excellence
Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that meets diverse learning needs
Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and evidence-based teaching practices
Proven track record of achieving excellent academic outcomes
Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing innovative unit and lesson plans aligned with the Australian Curriculum
Ability to sensitively teach a range of Health‐related syllabus as per the Australian Curriculum including growth and development, and relationship education to Years 7 – 10 girls.
Understanding of Girls' Education
Deep understanding of how girls learn and develop across different age groups
Ability to foster confidence, resilience, and leadership in female students
Knowledge of research‐based approaches to girls' education and empowerment
Commitment to broadening girls' aspirations.
Professional Skills
Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms
High level of ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
Able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate qualified boundaries and standards at all times, and especially when working with children and young people.
