Digital Content Designer (Multimedia)- National Centre of Excellence

Employment Type: Full Time, 35 hours per week
Duration: Fixed Term up until 30 June **** with a possibility of extension depending on funding
Remuneration: Skilled Level 6 $108,021 + 17% super+ annual leave loading

Position Summary
The Digital Content Designer plays a key role within the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health, creating engaging, accessible and high-quality visual content that supports the Centre's communications, engagement and strategic objectives. Working across a range of digital platforms, the role transforms complex research, evidence and data into compelling visual assets, including reports, infographics, animations, motion graphics and video, to effectively engage diverse audiences.
Reporting to the Media and Communications Manager, the Digital Content Designer collaborates with stakeholders across the Centre to develop creative, brand-aligned content for websites, social media and publications. The role is responsible for delivering accessible digital communications, managing multiple creative projects, and contributing innovative design solutions that enhance the Centre's digital presence and support the translation of research into meaningful community impact.
Some Key Skills required:
Relevant tertiary qualification in design, digital media,



communications design or a related discipline or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
Experience working with people with lived experience of disability, including intellectual disability and / or demonstrated commitment to inclusion including inclusive ways of working and the importance of lived experience leadership. .
Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality graphic design for reports, publications and longform documents, with strong attention to layout, typography, visual hierarchy and accessibility.
Proven experience creating engaging digital content for websites and social media platforms, including still graphics, animations and short-form video content optimised for different channels.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex information, research findings and data into clear, engaging and accurate infographics, motion graphics and visual summaries that are easy to understand for diverse audiences.
Experience producing animated content, including motion graphics and short animated videos, to communicate key messages and support digital engagement.
Demonstrated experience planning, shooting and editing video content for digital platforms, including social media reels,



stories and website use.
High-level proficiency in relevant design and digital production tools with the ability to apply these tools independently and efficiently.
