A rare opportunity has become available for an experiencedIndustry Sample Machinistto join the SACHA DRAKE team at our Head Office in Woolloongabba.
Working within a small, collaborative team, you will play a key role within the business and can flourish in a creative environment.
About the Role
Casual Role - Flexible Hours
In this role you will be Reporting to the Production Manager, your responsibilities include:
Construct high-quality garment samples from patterns, specifications, and technical packs.
Interpret patterns, garment specifications, and construction instructions accurately.
Sew a wide variety of fashion garments using industrial sewing machinery.
Ensure all samples are produced to the highest standard of workmanship and finish.
Identify and resolve construction or fit issues during the sampling process.
Work collaboratively with designers, pattern makers,



and production staff to achieve desired garment outcomes.
Recommend improvements to garment construction where appropriate.
Maintain consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail across all garments.
Assist with alterations and sample revisions as required
About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
3-5 Years proven experience as a Sample Machinist within the fashion or apparel industry.
Advanced garment construction and sewing skills.
Ability to sew a variety of garment types, including woven and knit fabrics.
Experience using industrial sewing machines, including overlock, lockstitch, cover stitch, and specialised equipment.
Strong understanding of garment assembly techniques and finishing methods.
Ability to interpret patterns, technical specifications, and construction notes.
Flexible and reliable with a positive, can-do attitude.
