North Coast Law
is a boutique Sunshine Coast law firm with office locations at Palmwoods, Beerwah and Pomona. We practise across property and commercial law (leasing, business sales, residential and commercial conveyancing); succession law (estate planning, deceased estate administration); and family law (consent orders, binding financial agreements, divorce, domestic violence applications).
We are looking for a graduate or junior solicitor to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. If you are just starting out with your legal career or you have a year or two years of post-admission experience under your belt we would love to hear from you.
This position is working out of our Palmwoods office four days per week commencing mid-August ****. From January **** it will also involve working out of our Beerwah office one possibly two days each week. All of our team are also given the flexibility to work one day per week from home by agreement.
Although this role is initially a maternity leave cover position, for the right applicant it will continue as a permanent role thereafter across the Palmwoods office and the Beerwah office.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal services primarily in Estate Law (estate planning, including preparing complex wills & enduring power of attorney documents; deceased estate administration and deceased estate disputes), Property Law (contract advice for residential, commercial, off the plan,

manufactured home and retirement village contracts; contract drafting; assisting the conveyancers with complex property and contract law issues; reverse mortgage advice) and Commercial Law (sale and purchase of businesses; commercial and retail shop leases).
Manage a diverse client base with professionalism and empathy.
Collaborate with a close-knit team in a supportive, regional firm environment.
Ideal Candidate:
Holds a current Queensland practising certificate (restricted or unrestricted), or eligible to apply for one now.
Some experience in Estate Law, Property Law and/or Commercial Law (newer practitioners with an interest in these areas will be considered and are encouraged to apply).
Ability to work independently in a time-effective manner with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
Be familiar and comfortable with using technology and committed to working and organising files in a paperless office environment.
Have reliable transport and be prepared to travel to our Palmwoods office and our Beerwah office as agreed.
Be prepared to engage in administration side of the business as needed to assist in the smooth operation of the firm - taking payments, receipting, photocopying, certifying documents, undertaking document preparation and typing on your own files. Our paralegal support is limited so autonomy and time management is desirable for this role.
Why Join Us?
Flexible working arrangements
Supportive of early career lawyers, working parents and semi-retired professionals
Cooperative and friendly work culture
Genuine long-term opportunity for the right person
This role is ideal for a qualified solicitor who may be:
Recently admitted early career lawyer seeking further experience
A working parent returning to the workforce
A semi-retired solicitor looking to remain engaged in the profession.
