Maintenance Fitter - Food Manufacturing

$150,000 + Overtime + Super

A leading food manufacturer is looking to add an experienced Maintenance Fitter or Dual Trader to its afternoon shift engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded tradesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. While dual trade qualifications are highly regarded, the role is best suited to someone who is mechanically biased with strong fault-finding skills and a passion for keeping production running efficiently.

You’ll join a well-established maintenance team responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of a up-to-date food manufacturing facility.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for maintaining production equipment to maximise uptime and support continuous manufacturing operations, including:
Preventative and reactive maintenance across food processing and packaging machinery
Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repairs on high-speed production equipment
Servicing conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, chains, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems
Assisting with machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects




Supporting electrical fault finding where required (Dual Trade advantageous)
Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
Maintaining a robust focus on food safety, quality, and workplace safety

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Dual Trade (Electrical/Mechanical)
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in FMCG, food, beverage, packaging, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Experience maintaining high-speed production and packaging equipment
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team
