Early Childhood Teacher | Preschool Room Leader

Kids Planet Academy North Ryde is seeking a confident, reflective and experiencedEarly Childhood Teacher to lead our preschool room.
This is a hands‐on leadership position for an educator who understands preschool-aged children, can inspire and guide a team, and wants to deliver much more than a standard school-readiness program.

About the role
As our Preschool Room Leader, you will lead the day-to-day operation and educational direction of the preschool room while working closely with the Service Manager, Educational Leader and room educators.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading a high-quality, play-based and inquiry-driven preschool program
Planning, implementing and evaluating meaningful learning experiences aligned with the EYLF V2.0 and National Quality Standard
Leading our school transition program while maintaining a thoughtful balance between intentional teaching, play, inquiry and child‐led learning




Observing and analysing children's learning, development and progress
Maintaining meaningful and high-quality curriculum documentation
Leading critical reflection and contributing to continuous improvement
Supporting and mentoring educators to strengthen their teaching practices, confidence and professional knowledge
Creating an organised, engaging, inclusive and responsive learning environment
Establishing clear expectations and supporting the consistent daily operation of the room
Building respectful and collaborative relationships with children and families
Contributing to the service Quality Improvement Plan
Supporting excursions, community partnerships, learning exhibitions and other curriculum initiatives
Promoting a strong culture of child safety, participation, inclusion and wellbeing
About you
To be considered for this position, you must have:
A Bachelor or Master qualification in Early Childhood Education recognised by ACECQA
Current NESA accreditation, or eligibility to obtain accreditation
A minimum oftwo years' experience working directly with preschool-aged children in a preschool room within an early childhood education and care setting
A strong understanding of the learning, development and emotional needs of children aged three to five years
Demonstrated experience planning, implementing and evaluating a high-quality preschool curriculum
Strong knowledge of the EYLF V2.0,



National Quality Standard and Education and Care Services National Regulations
The confidence and capability to lead, guide and mentor a team of educators
Strong written communication, curriculum documentation and critical-reflection skills
The ability to establish trusting and professional partnerships with children, families and colleagues
A current NSW Working with Children Check
Current approved First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training
Current child-protection training
Full Australian working rights
Previous experience as a Preschool Room Leader is strongly preferred.
However, an experienced preschool ECT who can demonstrate strong leadership capability and readiness to step into a room leadership position may also be considered.
