Impact you will have in this role
Miga's Claims and Legal Services team is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation.
This pivotal leadership position will ensure the operating model, workforce capability and systems continue to evolve ahead of future demand.

As the Business Manager - Claims and Legal Services you will lead how the Claims and Legal Services function operates by identifying opportunities to influence team capability and development, streamline workflows, improve technology utilisation, optimise external provider relationships and create scalable operating models that support continued growth.
Reporting to, and working closely with the Head of Claims & Legal Services, you'll drive operational excellence across the department by improving processes, strengthening governance, enhancing performance reporting and building the capability of leaders and teams.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, influencing senior stakeholders and leading meaningful organisational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across the Claims and Legal Services function
Review and redesign business processes to improve efficiency,



consistency and customer outcomes
Develop operational frameworks, governance processes, reporting and performance measures
Build succession capability and knowledge-sharing across the team
Partner with leaders to strengthen workforce capability, performance and accountability
Drive system optimisation, workflow automation and technology improvements
Apply commercial discipline to the management of external panel law firms, analyse operational performance and identify opportunities to improve service delivery, resource utilisation and commercial outcomes
Build strong relationships across the organisation to deliver strategic improvement initiatives
Ensure all operational improvements enhance team performance and development, service quality and the member experience
About You
You will be a commercially minded operational leader who enjoys improving the way legal teams work, and a positive influencer who can impact change.
We are searching for an accomplished legal practice leader who understands what enables a high-performing legal function to scale successfully.
This is a unique opportunity to bring your understanding of how legal practices operate to translate that knowledge into pragmatic solutions suited to Miga's environment, culture and purpose.
You thrive in complex environments, can confidently influence stakeholders and have a track record of delivering operational improvement and business transformation with an adaptable and collaborative manner.
Skills and Experience:
Proven success across business operations and operational excellence, ideally within a legal environment
Commercially astute to make data driven decisions and identify emerging pressure points, build persuasive business cases and turn strategic ambitions into clear, achievable plans
Success leading continuous improvement, business transformation or operational change initiatives in changing and growing environments
Strong commercial and analytical capability, including KPI development, reporting and performance management
Experience partnering with leaders to improve capability, performance and organisational effectiveness
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple business areas
Strong project management experience,



ideally involving systems implementation or process improvement
High levels of emotional intelligence, with the ability to position the team to anticipate future capacity requirements and remain ahead of emerging growth or pressure points
