Conditions:
General Medical Registration - at least PGY-5 experience with 6 months minimum ED Previous ED experience - at least 6 months ED Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Life Support skills.
Able to be in charge overnight shift with a junior doctor.
Responsible for management of ED patients and MET calls on ward.
Able to priorities, know own limitations and ask for help where appropriate (AMO on-call, Anesthetist on-call, NETS, Retrieval) Able to communicate severity over phone.
Able to supervise junior doctor.
Pediatric Life Support skills.
Assess and manage common illnesses and refer appropriately.
Completed pediatric term / worked in pediatric / mixed ED Neonatal resuscitation skills.
Able to assess and initiate management / refer appropriately.
BLS, ALS.
Able to assess based on history and examination, make provisional diagnosis and initiate management for presentations to ED.
Ability to manage trauma (this is not a trauma center but patients may self-refer), easy fractures and dislocations, complex suturing, use of slit lamp and ENT equipment Airway support or intubation (Anesthetist is on call for assistance), non-invasive ventilation Initiate management for critically unwell patients including intubation, ventilation and inotropic support prior to retrieval.
This is not a trauma referral center but need skills in trauma assessment and early management.
Ability to refer to trauma service.




Able to perform an assessment and referral.
After hours patients needing mental health admissions are referred by Telepsych.
Able to perform and assess, make diagnosis with differentials and hand over to the medical team for admission.
May be asked to review ward patients.
You will be responsible for managing MET calls.
Assessment and management of basic respiratory conditions and appropriate referral.
BLS, ASL.
Able to manage uncomplicated intubation.
Seek assistance from on-call Anesthetist as required.
Manage non-invasive ventilation and ventilate an intubated patient until Retrieval present to department.
Experience in basic and advanced pediatric life support.
Responsible for pediatric presentations to ED and MET calls to pediatric ward.
Cannulation, fluid resuscitation, familiarity with inotropes, vasopressors.
Excellent communication skills with patients, relatives and colleagues.
Excellent communication skills with patients and relatives / carers.
Capacity to work together in an ED Team.

NSW Hospital paperwork (LHD specific); NSW Health online training modules; immunisations/vaccinations; Primary Degree; Fellowship & CPD Certificate (if applicable); References; CRC; NSW WWCC; Indemnity; Medicare provider number; ID check; NSW declarations (e.g. Hep B; TB; Secondary Employment; Code of Conduct); Current AHPRA Registration
