Rates:Base rates + OT rates + Daily travel
4VOLT Group is seeking an experiencedMaintenance Fitter / Machine Tool Fitter or Fitter and Turner / Mechanical Engineering Tradefor a three-month opportunity at our client's industrial site in Artarmon.
Our client is an established electrical engineering company specialising in electrical and mechanical services across the industrial sector.This is a hands-on position involving the maintenance, repair and commissioning of machine tools, production machinery and mechanical equipment.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in industrial machinery
Service CNC machines, lathes, milling machines and grinders
Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulic systems
Repair production and packaging machinery
Replace bearings, shafts, couplings and other worn components




Perform precision alignment of motors, shafts and machinery
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
Machine or modify replacement parts when required
Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
Assist with machinery installation, testing and commissioning
Requirements
Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent
Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Machine Tool Fitter or Fitter and Turner
Strong mechanical fault‐finding and repair skills
Experience working with industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Confidence working independently and as part of a maintenance team

Day shift: 6:00 am-2:00 pm
