About the Role
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will be responsible for driving workplace health, safety, environmental, and return-to-work initiatives across the business. This is a hands-on role requiring regular interaction with employees, supervisors, and management to ensure compliance, promote best practice, and foster a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with relevant WHS, environmental, quality, and legislative requirements
Manage and continuously improve the WHS Management System in line with ISO ***** standards
Coordinate safety training programs and support the implementation of corrective actions and system improvements




Oversee all aspects of workers' compensation and return-to-work programs, working closely with managers and injured workers
Develop, review, and maintain WHS documentation, including SWMS, JSEAs, risk assessments, and procedures
Prepare and manage WHS documentation for tenders, prequalification submissions, and online contractor management systems
Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and site visits to ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements
Investigate incidents and ensure timely reporting, corrective actions, and KPI tracking
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on WHS matters and risk management strategies
Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety
Current Return to Work Coordinator certification
Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS role within construction, manufacturing, engineering or a related industry
Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation, workers' compensation processes, and ISO management systems
Proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies, procedures, and management systems
Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and build positive working relationships
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent investigation, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
