The Family Law Co. is a boutique law firm practising exclusively in family law.
While our office is located in Newcastle, we act for clients throughout regional New South Wales and beyond. Our work spans the full spectrum of family law matters, from negotiated settlements and mediation through to complex parenting and property litigation.

The Opportunity
We are seeking two Family Law Solicitors (4–6 PAE) to join our team.
The successful candidates will work on-site from our newly renovated office located in Bolton St, Newcastle, NSW (just around the corner from the stunning Newcastle Beach).
Each candidate will be working within a close‐knit smaller team made up of 3-4 staff (including a Principal solicitor or accredited specialist, junior solicitor, and paralegal) and will report directly to their team leader.
You'll have day‐to‐day carriage of your own matters while having access to ongoing support and guidance from senior practitioners.
This role will suit someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their files, building trusted client relationships and working within a genuinely team-oriented environment.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has at least 4 years post‐admission experience practising predominantly in family law
Can confidently manage a broad range of family law matters
Possesses strong drafting,



negotiation, and advocacy skills
Understands the value of alternative dispute resolution
Is organised, commercially aware and capable of managing a busy practice
Enjoys mentoring and supporting junior team members
Builds strong relationships with clients and referrers
Shares our commitment to professionalism, empathy and collaboration
Most importantly, you're someone who contributes positively to team culture.
