Location:Ashgrove West Kindy, Ashgrove, Brisbane
Position Type:Permanent Part-Time
Hours:Mon-Fri, Before School Care and After School Care shifts during school terms, with additional hours available during school holiday programs.
Inclusion Support Role - Mon-Wed Kindy hours (8:15am-2:30pm).
Option to take on OHC role only.
About Us
Ashgrove West Kindy is a welcoming, community-based kindergarten located in the heart of Ashgrove.
We are seeking a passionate, organised and enthusiastic Diploma-qualified educator to lead our Out of Hours Care (OHC) program.
Our OHC program provides high-quality care for children before and after kindergarten sessions and is guided by our play-based philosophy, solid relationships with families, and commitment to creating a safe, engaging and inclusive environment for all children.
For the successful applicant, there is also the opportunity to take on additional hours in an Inclusion Support Educator role within our kindergarten program.
This optional role involves working alongside our teaching team to support children's participation, engagement and inclusion in a play-based learning environment.
About the Role
As the Out of Hours Care Co-Ordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the OHC program, ensuring children experience a nurturing, stimulating and enjoyable environment.
You will work collaboratively with families, educators and management to deliver a high-quality service that supports children's wellbeing,
learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of the Out of Hours Care program.
Plan and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate experiences for children.
Ensure the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children attending the program.
Build positive and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
Manage program documentation and administrative requirements.
Support and contribute to a positive, collaborative and welcoming team culture.
Assist with the supervision and mentoring of educators within the program.
Essential Requirements
Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
CHCPRT025 – Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk.
Previous experience in a leadership or co-ordination role within early childhood education and care or school-age care.
Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting families.
