Azupay is a pioneer in real-time account-to-account payments in Australia, with a leading role in the adoption of PayID and PayTo. We are looking for a Product Manager who loves solving problems, learning recent things and getting helpful solutions into people's hands.
This role has a particular focus on the platforms, systems and workflows that help Azupay operate and scale. You will look for opportunities to solve problems through SaaS configuration, low-code tools, automation and AI—often designing and delivering the solution yourself.
However, we are not looking for a low-code specialist who only wants to work outside software development. You will also operate as a Product Manager and Business Analyst within our XP-style software delivery process, working closely with engineers when a solution needs custom development. You may provide cover across other product domains, and we want someone interested in moving between platform-led and engineering-led product work as they develop in the role.
The judgement to choose the right approach is important. Sometimes the answer will be platform configuration or an automated workflow. Sometimes it will require an engineer-built product capability. Success means selecting the approach that best balances speed, scalability, safety and business value—and then seeing it through to a real outcome.
Azupay remains small enough that you can make a visible difference, while our products already help major Australian businesses and millions of Australians make and receive payments. You will have the opportunity to improve both the products we take to market and the systems behind how our business operates.
Responsibilities
Own a defined product domain and the outcomes it needs to achieve
Understand the customer, commercial,

operational and technical problems within that domain
Translate business priorities into a clear roadmap and executable work
Design and deliver solutions using SaaS configuration, low-code tools, automation and AI
Improve how platforms, data and processes connect across the client lifecycle
Identify manual or inefficient processes and replace them with simpler, scalable solutions
Determine when a problem should be solved through configuration, workflow design or custom software development
Work closely with Engineering and Design when software development is required
Translate detailed analysis into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery priorities
Maintain backlog quality and work daily with engineers in an XP-style setting
Coordinate testing, acceptance, rollout and continuous improvement
Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Commercial, Customer Success, Risk, Legal and Operations
Support go-to-market readiness, internal enablement and client rollout
Define success measures and use data and feedback to improve performance
Contribute across product domains and support other Product Managers when required
Capabilities sought
Product management, product ownership or business analysis experience, with a record of solving real business or customer problems
Practical experience configuring SaaS platforms and designing workflows or automations

Confidence using low-code tools and AI to create working solutions—not simply preparing requirements for someone else
Experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle
The ability to analyse complex processes and translate them into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
Sound judgement about when to configure, automate, integrate or build
Robust communication and cross-functional leadership skills
A high level of ownership and an ability to make progress without relying on constant escalation
Curiosity and a genuine love of learning
A bias towards delivery and achieving value, rather than producing activity or documentation for its own sake
Comfort moving between strategic thinking, detailed analysis and hands‐on execution
The flexibility and interest to work across different product domains over time
You may currently describe yourself as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst or Platform Owner. We are more interested in how you think, learn and deliver than in the exact title you have held.
Experience in payments or financial services would be useful, but it is not essential. An appetite to understand payments, regulation and the needs of enterprise customers will matter more.
Ways of working
We value people who:
care deeply about solving worthwhile problems
focus on outcomes rather than output
bring clarity and simplicity to complicated situations
experiment, learn and improve continuously
get into the detail when that is what delivery requires
collaborate openly and contribute beyond the boundaries of their own domain
balance speed with appropriate rigour
enjoy working in a capable, ambitious and supportive team
