Our client is a proudly Australian, market leading retail and wholesale business with a loyal customer base and a growing store and e-commerce network in the sporting goods and apparel space. As the business enters its next phase of growth across Australia and New Zealand, they are looking for an experienced Head of IT to take ownership of the technology function and lead it through a period of significant change.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a technology professional who understands retail - someone who can balance day-to-day operational reliability with a genuine, on-the-ground technology transformation agenda, including an ERP system change and a cloud migration, while leading a small, capable team.

With a significant national store footprint, a growing DTC/e-commerce presence and a passionate customer community, our client is built on quality, performance and expertise.

The Role

Reporting to a senior executive, the Head of IT will own the technology function spanning infrastructure, business applications, vendor management, cyber security and system change. You'll lead a team across Australian and the Northern Hemisphere, act as the key technology partner to the wider business and take charge of two major programs of work over the next two years: an ERP system change and a cloud migration.

What You'll Own

- IT strategy, roadmap and operations
- Infrastructure management, including networks, hardware,



hosting and end-user computing
- Business applications, including ERP, POS and other core retail systems
- Vendor management and contract negotiation across technology suppliers
- Cyber security posture, risk management and incident response
- System change management, including planning, testing and business readiness
- Leadership, development and day-to-day management of a team of three
- Project management of an ERP system change over the next two years
- Delivery of a cloud migration program
- IT budgeting, cost control and reporting to senior leadership
- Business partnering with retail, commercial and supply chain stakeholders
- Disaster recovery, business continuity and data governance
- Continuous improvement in systems, automation and data accuracy

What You'll Bring

- Proven experience in a similar IT leadership role within a local retail environment
- Experience supporting technology across multiple countries
- Strong working knowledge of infrastructure, business applications, vendor management and cyber security
- Experience project managing or leading an ERP system change highly regarded
- Experience delivering a cloud migration highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing a small team
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence non-technical leaders
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach balanced with strategic thinking
- Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills
