About the Role

The City of Kwinana is seeking to create a pool of suitable applicants from which appointment may be made on a casual basis.

$40.31 per hour (inclusive of casual loading). This position is classified as a PACS Band 2 under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position under Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Chance Act 1984.

Responsibilities

As a Moorditj Kulungar Playgroup Assistant (50D), you will collaborate with the Playleader/Aboriginal Support Worker to provide the Moorditj Kulungar Playgroup with a culturally safe space to learn, grow and connect.

Qualities & Qualifications

- Ability to provide care for and engage with children.
- Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety, and ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Possession of current Provide First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Possession of current Working with Children Check, current Driver’s Licence, and National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old).
- Understanding of early childhood development, including health, safety, and nutritional needs (desirable).
- Awareness of National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (desirable).
- Previous experience working within an Aboriginal community (desirable).
