Hospital Claims Team Leader

We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Team Leader to lead our Hospital Claims Assessors through an exciting period of change. In this role, you’ll balance operational delivery with coaching and development, ensuring hospital claims are assessed accurately, on time, and in line with our service standards.

What will you do?

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of Hospital Claims Assessors in achieving performance and continuous development, including workload management and workforce planning.
- Coach, upskill and ensure competency development across the team in achieving KPI and service standards.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with both legislative frameworks and business practice.
- Lead the implementation of policy, process, and system changes for the Hospital Team.
- Collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and creating best practice processes.
- Provide technical expertise and function as a subject matter expert with the hospital space.
- Identify compliance issues, fraud risk, and opportunities to minimise benefit leakage.

What do you need?

Essential





- Proven Team Leader experience (including managing performance and difficult conversations)
- Strong process orientation with the ability to support others through change.
- Experience working in high-volume, KPI-driven environments.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and internal systems.

Desirable

- Private Health Insurance or claims experience.
- Hospital claims knowledge or familiarity with hospital/clinical terminology
- Experience with HAMBS or similar claims systems
- Qualifications in Business, Management, or a related field

This role requires you to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

The salary package for this role is $124,244 (inc super).
