The Gukwonderuk Indigenous Health Workforces Centre is seeking a motivated and collaborative education-focused academic to contribute to Indigenous health equity education across the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. This role will suit someone with a background in health professions, strong people skills, confidence using online learning technologies, and a genuine commitment to strengthening culturally safe health education.

Working within an Indigenous-led team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and committed allies, you will be based in the dedicated Gukwonderuk Centre office space at Monash Clayton and contribute to a supportive, relational and purpose-driven work environment.

Reporting to the Associate Professor Indigenous Health Workforce, who leads the Gukwonderuk Education Team, this role will support the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of Indigenous health equity educational modules and teaching resources used across the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. The position will help educators and course teams embed Indigenous health equity, cultural safety, critical reflection and anti-racism learning into health professional education.

Responsibilities

- supporting the coordination and delivery of Gukwonderuk Indigenous health equity modules and associated teaching resources
- assisting educators, course coordinators and teaching teams to use Indigenous health equity curriculum resources effectively
- contributing to online learning materials, Moodle sites, educator guidance and student-facing resources
- supporting workshops, professional development and staff training focused on Indigenous health equity and culturally safe practice




- building positive relationships with students, educators, professional staff, health disciplines and external stakeholders
- contributing to evaluation, reporting and ongoing improvement of Indigenous health equity education across the Faculty

We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised, relational and comfortable working across education, health and technology-enabled learning environments. Relevant qualifications, experience or demonstrated expertise in Indigenous health, health professions education, healthcare, public health, community education, curriculum support, educational design, Indigenous studies or a related area will be highly regarded.

This role may particularly appeal to people with experience in the healthcare sector who are interested in helping students and staff develop the knowledge, confidence and critical reflection needed to provide culturally safe care.
