We're seeking Employment / Workplace Relations Lawyers with an interest in workplace investigations.
This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, and we welcome applications from candidates ranging from Associate level (2+ years post-admission experience) through to lawyers at Special Counsel level. Recent experience obtained from private practice or in a relevant public sector legal role is preferred.
About the Role:
- advising employers on various employment and industrial relations issues;
- reviewing and drafting employment contracts and policies;
- providing payroll / compliance advice;
- supporting employment disputes and litigation in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court and other courts and tribunals; and
- workplace investigations across a range of industries and sectors.
More senior candidates will have the opportunity to take carriage of matters, mentor and grow junior staff, and play a lead role in developing and managing client relationships.
What We're Looking for?
- Strong legal research skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and well-developed legal written skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse, high-volume workload and be able to meet deadlines and client timeframes.
- Exceptional client service skills including the ability to grow key relationships and handle complex or difficult conversations with client contacts (e.g. in relation to cost expectations and delays).
- Ability to support (and lead, depending on experience) significant matters with minimal supervision, including the ability to independently provide proactive cost management and input on scoping of matters.
- Proficiency in technology and computer skills with the ability to learn new operating systems efficiently and effectively.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct witness interviews confidently and when required, in a culturally sensitive way.
- Ability to identify legal risks.
