They now have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced FMCG Food Technologist ready to step up, or a current Senior Food Technologist, ready to move into a new category. Role is located in Beresfield (north of Newcastle).
The Role – Located in Beresfield, NSW
Reporting to the NPD Commercial Manager, you will be required to be on site 5 days a week but there is flexibility with start and finish times. Key to this role is the ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members. Your responsibilities include the following:
- This role will be the most senior Food Technologist onsite
- Ensure projects follow the NPD Stage Gate Process to ensure key metrics are achieved
- Provide technical expertise across the portfolio
- Take customer concepts through to commercialisation and launch
- Manage and provide leadership on technical aspects of projects
- Commercialise a portfolio of +65 NPD projects per year
- Participation in the development of a 2+ year strategic innovation pipeline, with the brand and customer teams, across branded and private label products
- Hold annual innovation sessions with key suppliers to ensure the joint development of a strong NPD pipeline
- Assist the company to improve in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality and Compliance
About You
We seek candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Project leadership - to effectively lead from the front and support the NPD team
- The desire and aptitude to be developed for a managerial role in the near future. Current or previous managerial experience will be highly regarded
- Process management – develop, manage and follow process with a keen eye for detail
- Technical Skills – a current understanding of required food & quality standards and legislation to commercialise new products
- Effective negotiation, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Highly developed presentation skills
- Excellent organisation skills – ability to manage diversity of projects
- Planning and innovation, business acumen and effective communication skills
- Organisational agility and the ability to work closely with key suppliers on innovation workshops, from paper concepts through to launch
- Experience in FMCG Food industry a must
- Currently on a Visa and wishing to work regionally to speed up the PR process
- A degree in Food Science or a related discipline
- A proven track record in a Product Development role in a similar field
