Your Responsibilities
As a Road Maintenance Officer, you'll play an important role in keeping local roads and public infrastructure safe and well maintained. Your duties will include:
- Maintaining and repairing roads, footpaths, kerb and channel, drainage systems and other Council assets
- Completing minor concreting, asphalt patching and bluestone repairs
- Operating civil plant and equipment including excavators, skid steers, rollers and compactors
- Driving MR trucks to transport materials, machinery and equipment between worksites
- Responding to road defects and maintenance requests
- Installing and maintaining traffic management equipment and signage
- Conducting pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment
- Following safe work practices, completing work orders and reporting hazards
- Working collaboratively with the Road Maintenance team to deliver high-quality outcomes
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Current MR (Medium Rigid) Truck Licence (Required)
- Provide a VicRoads 5 year demerit points histroy (Required)
- Current Working With Children Check (Required)
- Current Police Check (Required)
- Experience in road maintenance, civil construction or infrastructure maintenance
- Experience operating civil plant and machinery
- Knowledge of asphalt, concrete, drainage or road repair works
- Construction White Card
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Highly Regarded
- Traffic Management qualifications (Stop/Slow, Implement Traffic Management Plan or equivalent)
- First Aid Certificate
- HR Licence
- Confined Space Ticket or other civil construction tickets
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
Hours generally operate between 7:00am and 3:00pm, with some variation depending on operational requirements.
Pay Rate: $36.81 per hour + Super
