Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the residents’ physical health and comfort is maintained by providing routine and non-routine clinical care
Ensures that families are fully informed about issues relating to their relative
Ensures that communication between peers and staff is upheld and fostered to ensure duties are performed accurately and holistically
Contributes to the effective functioning of the team by sharing clinical knowledge and skills
Contributes to the operation of the shift by working co-operatively and collaboratively with the other members of the team
Medication Assistance and Administration
Practice duty of care, and promote personal safety and risk management
Promote dignity of risk which empowers residents’ choices and independence
Work in collaboration with internal and external service providers to provide clinical solutions
Adhere to policies and procedures during the normal course of carrying out duties and responsibilities
Skills and Experience
Current nursing registration with AHPRA
Previous Aged Care and/or Hospital experience highly regarded
The ability to supervise, delegate and work as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
