This is an opportunity to join the Market Regulation team responsible for maintaining the integrity of a fast-growing derivatives marketplace. You'll play a key role in monitoring trading activity, investigating market abuse, and helping shape surveillance and compliance frameworks in a highly visible, front-office environment. Working closely with Legal, Risk, Technology, and market participants, you'll have a direct impact on market integrity while contributing to the evolution of a new asset class.
What You’ll Work On
- Real-time monitoring of trading activity across derivatives markets
- Trade surveillance and detection of suspicious or manipulative trading behaviour
- Post-trade investigations and forensic analysis of flagged transactions
- Preparing investigation reports and recommending appropriate actions
- Supporting regulatory enquiries and audit responses
- Developing and enhancing market surveillance and compliance frameworks
- Working closely with liquidity providers to support trading activity and regulatory requirements
- Collaborating with Legal, Risk, Technology, and Operations teams to improve surveillance systems and workflows
Required Skills
- 2–4 years experience in market surveillance, market regulation, compliance, or exchange operations
- Working knowledge of derivatives markets and electronic trading environments
- Understanding of trade surveillance principles and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving
Nice to Have
- Experience working with CFTC-regulated markets or exchange environments
- Familiarity with market abuse detection and surveillance platforms
- Experience interacting with liquidity providers or market participants
- Background in financial markets, exchanges, or market infrastructure
LocationsSydney (Hybrid)
CompensationBase salary of AUD $100,000–130,000 plus performance-based bonus
