Rowe's Speech and Swallowing Clinic is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Intervention/Teacher or Allied Health Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. Based across Portland/ Warrnambool /Hamilton VIC this role offers flexibility whilst providing meaningful support to early childhood development and intervention programmes. You will work alongside our experienced clinical team to make a genuine difference in the lives of young children and their families.
What you'll be doing
- Assist speech pathologists and allied health professionals in delivering early childhood intervention programmes and therapy sessions
- Support the implementation of evidence-based therapeutic strategies and developmental activities with children aged 0-5 years
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, utilising play-based and developmentally appropriate approaches
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a secure, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Document observations and progress of children participating in intervention programmes
- Collaborate with educators, families and clinicians to support individualised goals and developmental outcomes
- Assist with preparing materials, equipment and resources required for therapy sessions and activities
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and participation
- Support the embedding of therapy goals into daily routines and educational settings
What we're looking for
- A relevant qualification such as a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, Speech Pathology,
Allied Health Assistant certificate IV, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in early intervention settings
- Current or demonstrated commitment to obtaining relevant certifications in early childhood intervention or allied health support
- Experience working with young children, particularly those with developmental delays, communication difficulties, or additional support needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A genuine passion for early childhood development and a child-centred, strengths-based approach
- Flexibility, reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Reliable Vehicle for travel
