Employment Terms
Part-time 67.5 hours per fortnight- Fixed Term Contract 12 months. Hours/days negotiable.
6-month probationary period applies. All employment is subject to ongoing funding.

https://www.yesunlimited.com.au/the-hive The Youth Early Intervention Specialist The Early Intervention Specialist is based at the Hive Youth Resource Centre providing a range of early intervention services and supports to young people and their families, with the intention of improving future life outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Youth Engagement: Delivering group work (i.e. Lovebites, RAGE), youth events, school holiday programs, youth leadership programs and other activities that foster resilience, promote personal growth, and empower young people to reach their goals.
- Deliver Tailored 1:1 Support: Harness young people's strengths and aspirations to help them achieve their personal goals. Whether through structured case management, brief interventions, single-session therapeutic support, or creative outreach, you’ll craft individual strategies that meet clients where they are.
- Create Welcoming Spaces: Host afternoon chillout sessions and drop-in activities at the Hive, building rapport and creating a safe, welcoming environment for young people to connect with each other and with our services.
- Shape Our Practice: Actively engage in the development and operationalizing of Yes Unlimited’s Model of Practice which includes Strength Based Practice, Trauma Informed Approach and the Five Foundations for Ending Homelessness
Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications & Experience
- Have, or be working towards the completion of,
a formal qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare, Youth Work or related discipline at a Diploma or higher level and/or prior experience in working within the community sectors
- Prior experience in providing group work (particularly training in specific group work programs), youth engagement, case management, counselling services to young people will be a significant advantage

Skills & Knowledge
- A demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of Strengths Based and Trauma Informed principles and practice
- An understanding of the issues relating to young people in our local context
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to establish rapport, engage with and motivate others
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team toward established goals
- Sound administration skills including confidence in the use of information and communications technology
Other requirements
- Flexibility for weekends and evening work from time to time (program dependent)
- Have and maintain a current driver’s licence, sound driving record and industry relevant Police and Working with Children clearance;
- Have and maintain a current First Aid Certificate.
