Finance Manager (6 Month Contract initially)

North Shore, Sydney NSW | On‑site, 1 day WFH after induction | $130,000–$150,000 base + super

A finance leadership role for someone who wants to walk into a business mid‑transformation and own it. The processes are being rebuilt from the ground up across AP, AR, cashflow and month end. Suited to a CA or CPA who is immediately available and comfortable with pace and ambiguity.

About Our Client

Our client is a well‑established technology business operating across Australia and Recent Zealand. The finance function is going through significant change and this person will be central to getting it right.

Responsibilities

- Own month‑end and year‑end close end to end, including journals, reconciliations and reporting packs
- Keep the general ledger clean and fully reconciled across bank, WIP, fixed assets and intercompany
- Own debtor and creditor performance with direct line of sight to cash flow
- Ensure all statutory and tax obligations are met including BAS, GST and FBT, and be the main contact for external auditors




- Produce monthly P&L; and balance sheet reporting with variance analysis the business can act on
- Lead a small team across revenue accounting, financial accounting and accounts payable, and develop them throughout the engagement
- Identify where processes are breaking down and fix them

Requirements

- CA or CPA qualified or in progress
- Proven experience in a senior finance or accounting role with direct team leadership
- Strong month‑end close, GL and balance sheet governance track record
- Statutory compliance experience including BAS, GST and FBT
- ERP experience, SAP or similar, and strong Excel
- Comfortable working in a demanding, fast‑paced environment and partnering with operational stakeholders
- Full working rights, including Working Holiday Visa
