Workfast is currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitters to join our team working on a major Water Treatment Plant project. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled tradespeople with water infrastructure experience to secure ongoing work on Sydney Water sites.
What's On Offer:
- $60.64/hr ($58.64per hour + super + $2.00/h project allowance*)
- Consistent 40-hour weeks with occasional overtime
- Overtime penalties and above industry-standard allowances
- Travel Allowance per day $27.17
- Long-term, ongoing role with the goal & opportunity for FT employment
- Work on major infrastructure projects across Sydney Water sites
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in water treatment or similar industrial & construction environments.
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in relevant discipline
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) - mandatory
- Valid Australian work rights (citizen, permanent resident, or unrestricted visa)
- Strong understanding and commitment to site safety protocols
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required
Working at Heights, or other secure work tickets
- Local to Wollongong area or willing / able to travel to site
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical maintenance on water treatment equipment and plant machinery
- Maintain and repair pipes, valves, conveyors, and pumps
- Assist with general labouring tasks around the plant as needed
- Support daily operations to ensure smooth functionality of the treatment plant
- Participate in site toolbox talks and maintain strong safety practices
*Project allowance for most areas of the job. Some zones excluded.
