We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sprinkler Fitter – Minor Works to join our team at ARA Fire Protection Services Pty Ltd. This full-time position, based in Balcatta, involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of sprinkler systems across residential and commercial properties.

In this role, you will ensure fire protection systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards, meeting all relevant Australian regulations and codes. Your work will directly contribute to safeguarding people, property, and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

- Work within the defined scope of works as outlined in plans and documentation.

- Comply with all Employer Policies and Procedures, work rules, practices, instructions, and environmental guidelines.

- Review, comment on, and sign relevant Secure Work Method Statements (SWMS); perform all tasks safely.

- Provide daily updates to the Leading Hand/Supervisor regarding progress, issues, and material or equipment shortages.

- Install Employer and Customer supplied items and materials.

- Review and forecast equipment/material requirements for upcoming tasks and advise the Leading Hand/Supervisor.

- Identify and report any changes to the defined scope of works.

- Complete all required task/client documentation, commissioning sheets, and As Built mark-ups in line with documented procedures.

- Liaise with client site personnel as needed to complete tasks.

- Maintain and protect Employer materials, tools, and assets, preventing loss or theft.

- Update daily tasks including CLARAFY timesheets and As Built mark-ups.

- Complete all EH&S; questions and report unsafe work areas, materials, or equipment.

- Report any safety incidents immediately to the Leading Hand/Supervisor.

- Review updated task scopes, drawings, and documentation, ensuring alignment with original requirements.

- Attend site meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For





- Current sprinkler fitter qualifications or equivalent experience in fire protection system installation and maintenance.

- Proven experience as a sprinkler fitter, ideally with a focus on minor works.

- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, particularly AS 1851, and relevant fire safety regulations.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

- Competent and safe use of hand and power tools.

- Solid understanding of plumbing principles and pipe fitting techniques.

- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various sites across Perth.

- Excellent problem‑solving skills and robust attention to detail.

- Effective communication and customer service skills.

- Commitment to safety and compliance in all work activities.

- Preferred experience with wet and dry sprinkler systems.
