The Company is in need of a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be a key member of the legal team, providing high-quality, strategic, and timely legal advice on a range of complex and sensitive matters. This includes but is not limited to commercial, procurement, banking and financial arrangements, public finance, and legislative or policy initiatives. The role also involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal documents, and supporting the organization on various projects and initiatives. The Senior Legal Counsel will be expected to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and operate with a high degree of autonomy within the company's legal, policy, and governance frameworks.Applicants for the Senior Legal Counsel position at the company must be admitted as legal practitioners with a current unrestricted NSW practicing certificate and have a minimum of 15 years' post-qualification experience,



with a proven track record of advising the public sector. Essential skills include the ability to provide strategic advice at a senior level, solid experience in commercial and procurement law, banking and finance, public sector governance, and/or public finance, and the capacity to identify legal and commercial risks and propose practical mitigation strategies. The role requires a candidate with current professional indemnity insurance, the ability to integrate quickly and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision, and excellent communication skills. Desirable qualifications include prior experience in a central agency or whole-of-government legal function and expertise in the specified legal areas.
