The Senior Property Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Eastern Suburbs, responsible for managing accounting and financial activities for property portfolios. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing financial statements, overseeing journal entries, and ensuring accurate general ledger maintenance. The role involves managing month-end and year-end closing processes, monitoring cash flow, and supporting budgeting and forecasting for property assets. The Senior Property Accountant will handle financial reporting for internal stakeholders and clients, ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, and assist with audits and variance analysis. This position also collaborates closely with property managers and leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to manage complex property-related transactions and portfolios.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Hands‑on experience with Journal Entries (Accounting), general ledger reconciliations, and month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Advanced knowledge of property or real estate accounting practices and familiarity with industry‑specific systems or ERP software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret financial data to support business decisions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external auditors.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple portfolios in a fast‑paced setting.
