The Role
The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role across a billion-dollar project delivery portfolio.
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will partner closely with General Managers, Project Directors and senior stakeholders to provide financial leadership across investment cases, portfolio performance, forecasting and strategic planning.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, capital allocation and project delivery — ensuring significant infrastructure investment decisions are commercially robust, analytically rigorous and strategically aligned.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial input into major investment cases and capital decisions
Build and maintain sophisticated driver-based financial models
Deliver actionable insights across P&L;, cash flow, forecasting and portfolio performance
Support monthly close, quarterly reforecasts and annual budgeting processes
Partner with project and commercial teams to strengthen cost control and optimise delivery outcomes
Contribute to business planning, capital strategy and performance improvement initiatives
Enhance governance, reporting frameworks and financial controls
Act as a trusted “single source of truth” for financial models and portfolio data integrity
The Successful Applicant
CA/CPA qualified with a degree in Finance, Commerce or related discipline
Experience within infrastructure, utilities or other capital-intensive sectors
Advanced financial modelling capability (Excel essential; Oracle advantageous)
Proven experience supporting investment appraisal and strategic decision-making
Robust commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Process improvement mindset with the ability to operate autonomously
High standards of integrity, governance and execution discipline
