The Role
We have chance for personal injury lawyer to join our team (part-time will be considered).
This role would suit a personal lawyer who has 2-4 years PAE experience and is able to work independently with a varied client base.
A conciliatory approach to matters is important, with an aptitude to manage client expectations.
Duties
Meeting with clients, obtaining their instructions and advising on their legal rights and entitlements.
Evaluating litigation risks and exposures.
Drafting and providing advice across a variety of personal injury matters.
Preparation of costs agreements as appropriate and attending to financial requirements pertaining to matters.




Liaising with other parties to obtain reports, grants of funding and other evidentiary documentation.
Preparing correspondence, pleadings, Deeds, contracts, briefs and reports as appropriate.
Interviewing clients and witnesses or other third parties to ascertain facts and obtain statements.
Provide excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills and apply high ethical standards at all times.
Briefing and instructing external counsel where necessary, attending and participating at conferences, mediations and hearings.
Ensure all works are conducted in accordance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law, Acts, Rules and Regulations, together with the Conduct, Practice and CPD Rules.
Negotiating settlements of disputes.
Appearing in courts, commissions and tribunals.
Building and managing client relationships.
Ability to develop and manage own file loads.
Keeping the firm up to date on legislative changes that may impact clients and others within the firm.
Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and workload while maintaining quality and service levels.
Skills & Experience
2-4 years post qualification experience in personal injury law.
Highly developed communication and drafting skills.
Ability to negotiate well with various parties involved in a matter.
Excellent skills in building client relationships.
High level of legal knowledge.
Strategic and lateral thinker.
Established profile in the local community
A keen team player, eager to work with and be part of a dynamic team
Desirable but not essential
Familiarity with Evolve Go/Smokeball practice software
Institutional Abuse experience
