St Hilda's School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Health & Physical Education Teacher to join our Middle and Senior School team. This is a rewarding twelve-month fixed-term opportunity, covering parental leave, for an educator who is passionate about inspiring young women to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement. This position will be required to teach students in Years 7 – 10.

About the Position

Reporting to the Head of Faculty – Health & Physical Education, the successful candidate will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Health and Physical Education syllabus for girls in Years 7 -10. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant sporting culture, work alongside a team-oriented team of educators, and support the holistic development of students through physical activity, health and wellbeing.

About You

Teaching Excellence

- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that meets diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and evidence-based teaching practices
- Proven track record of achieving excellent academic outcomes




- Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing innovative unit and lesson plans aligned with the Australian Curriculum
- Ability to sensitively teach a range of Health‑related syllabus as per the Australian Curriculum including growth and development, and relationship education to Years 7 – 10 girls.

Understanding of Girls' Education

- Deep understanding of how girls learn and develop across different age groups
- Ability to foster confidence, resilience, and leadership in female students
- Knowledge of research‑based approaches to girls' education and empowerment
- Commitment to broadening girls' aspirations.

Qualified Skills

- Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms
- High level of ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards at all times, and especially when working with children and young people.
