Preferred Care is expanding its casual hospital nursing pool and is seeking experienced Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses for agency shifts across public and private hospitals.
Opportunities are available across Brisbane, Springfield and the Gold Coast, with shifts matched to your clinical experience, availability and preferred work locations.

Hospital locations
Agency shifts may be available across:
- Brisbane Metro
- Springfield and surrounding areas
- Gold Coast
You can nominate the locations in which you are willing to work.
Clinical areas
We are particularly interested in nurses with recent experience in one or more of the following:
- Medical
- Surgical
- Emergency Department
- ICU, CCU or HDU
- Mental Health
- Perioperative, theatre or recovery
- Rehabilitation
- Other acute hospital specialties
Shift availability will depend on your recent clinical experience, compliance,
availability and client requirements.
About the role
As a Preferred Care agency nurse, you will provide safe, responsive and professional nursing care within your scope of practice.
Depending on your clinical area and the hospital, your responsibilities may include:
- Assessing and monitoring patients and responding to changes in their condition
- Administering medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Delivering nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical plans
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Recognising, reporting and escalating clinical concerns
- Communicating effectively with patients, families and hospital teams
- Working collaboratively with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary teams
- Completing appropriate clinical handover at the end of each shift
What you will need
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
- A minimum of 12 months recent paid hospital or acute clinical experience
- Recent experience relevant to the clinical areas in which you wish to work
- Current Australian working rights
- Two professional or clinical referees
- Current immunisation evidence relevant to hospital employment
- Reliable transport to attend shifts within your nominated areas
- Flexibility, reliability and a professional approach to agency work
- Ability to meet Preferred Care and hospital compliance requirements
