Senior Associate, Employment Law & Industrial Relations
Stevens and Associates Lawyers is a boutique, specialist law firm well known for its technical excellence, commercial insight and strong client relationships in the employment law and industrial relations space.
The firm is currently in an exciting period of expansion and development. This has presented the unique prospect for an experienced Senior Associate to join its close-knit and collaborative team, advising local, interstate and international clients on the full spectrum of advisory and dispute workplace issues.
About the Role
- Work autonomously on a variety of employment law and industrial relations advisory and dispute matters.
- Act on behalf of applicant and company clients.
- Advise on employment contracts, policies, workplace governance, performance and misconduct management, redundancies and organisational change.
- Appear regularly in the Fair Work Commission in unfair dismissal, general protections and other employment proceedings.
- Work on enterprise agreement and industrial relations issues, including modern award and enterprise agreement interpretation.
- Assist with workplace investigations, bullying, harassment and discrimination matters.
- Supervise Junior Solicitors and Paralegals.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, client training, seminars and publications focused on workplace culture, conduct and compliance.
About You
- This is a great opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer with a practical, commercial approach to make a strategic career move and to work for a specialist firm.
- You will have 5+ years' post-qualification experience in employment law and/or industrial relations and/or work health and safety. You will bring well developed technical and drafting skills and a confident written and verbal communication style.
- Your technical skills will be supported by a good ability to work in a team setting and manage client relationships.
- Excellent work in a relaxed environment.
- High calibre of long-standing clients, local, interstate and international clients.
- Reasonable working hours and billable targets.
- The ability to work from home if required.
