Civil Estimator (industrial & land developments western Sydney )

Cirillo Civil Group Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Civil Estimator specialising in industrial and land developments to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Eastern Creek, NSW 2766, this role is pivotal to our estimating department and sits at the heart of our project delivery process. As Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on industrial and land development works across Western Sydney. Your expertise will directly influence project feasibility, pricing strategy, and commercial success, making this a strategically important position within our organisation.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including industrial developments, land clearing, earthworks, and associated infrastructure
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine material quantities, labour requirements, and equipment needs
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project conditions and identify potential cost variables
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and clarify project scope and requirements
- Build and maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and pricing models to enhance estimation accuracy
- Monitor and track actual costs against estimates to identify variances and improve future estimating processes
- Prepare tender submissions and quotations within agreed timeframes and in compliance with client requirements




- Collaborate with the commercial and operations teams to support project planning, resource allocation, and risk identification
- Stay current with industry standards, pricing trends, supplier rates, and regulatory requirements affecting civil construction

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Civil Estimator with a minimum of 3–5 years in the construction or civil engineering sector
- Demonstrated expertise in estimating industrial and land development projects, including earthworks, site preparation, and infrastructure works
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, construction methodologies, and material specifications
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Buildsoft, Planswift, or similar platforms)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to build and manage complex spreadsheets and databases
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Sound understanding of labour rates, equipment hire costs, material pricing, and subcontractor quotations
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting tight deadlines




- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Knowledge of Western Sydney construction market conditions and local suppliers is advantageous
- Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying, or construction management are preferred
