We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Officer / Accountant to join our Sydney finance team. In this role, you will work closely with our finance team in China to manage the day-to-day accounting activities related to logistics and warehousing operations across Australia.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close, and accrual accounting. Experience in logistics, supply chain, transport, or warehousing industries will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) related to logistics and warehousing operations.

Perform regular reconciliation of supplier invoices, customer billings, and logistics charges.

Work closely with the China finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Process and reconcile costs across multiple logistics channels, including:

Local transportation and distribution

In-house fleet operations

Third-party logistics (3PL) providers (e.g. Allied Express and similar carriers)

International freight, including inbound ocean freight, first-mile and last-mile transportation

Prepare month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments.

Maintain accurate accrual schedules for logistics expenses with varying payment terms.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.





Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and company policies.

Prepare and lodge PAYG-related transactions and support payroll-related reconciliations where required.

Support process improvements and help streamline finance operations.

Skills & Experience

3-5 years of accounting or finance experience.

Solid experience in:

Accounts Payable (AP)

Accounts Receivable (AR)

Bank and balance sheet reconciliations

Accrual accounting

Month-end close

Experience working with logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing, or supply chain businesses is highly preferred.

Good understanding of Australian accounting practices and GST/PAYG requirements.

Experience handling high-volume transactions with different payment terms.

Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with overseas finance teams.

Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (such as NetSuite, MYOB, Xero, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar) is advantageous.

CPA/CA qualification (completed or in progress) is preferred but not essential.
