Timber, Hardware & Building Products Trade Counter Sales Person

Williams Group Australia is a trusted, family-owned local business, proudly serving the area with high-quality timber, hardware, and building products. Our Byron Bay store is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Person to join our team.

The Role:

As a Trade Counter Sales Person, you will be the first point of contact for our trade customers, providing exceptional service and expert advice on our extensive range of products. You will play a key role in ensuring customers receive the products and support they need to complete their building and renovation projects. The position will start as a casual position with the potential to become full time for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist trade customers at the counter with product inquiries, orders, and advice.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide expert advice on timber, hardware, and building products to customers.
- Maintain a clean and organised trade counter area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and contribute to the growth of the business.




- Ensure that safety standards are adhered to at all times.

Skills & Experience:

- Previous experience in a trade counter or retail sales role, ideally within the building, timber, or hardware industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced workplace.
- Good knowledge of building products and materials is an advantage.
- Basic computer skills for processing orders and managing sales.
- A forklift licence would be an advantage, but is not essential
