Are you a trade-qualified technician looking for stable shifts, strong earning potential and a clean, well-structured site?

SSI SCHAEFER has a long-term maintenance operations contract at a major automated distribution centre working on a large-scale automated site for a prominent distributor to National supermarket chains and requires a Mechanical technician to join an established team at the Eastern Creek site.

Day: 6:00am – 6:00pm

Night: 6:00pm – 6:00am (with shift loading)

Totalling 14 days in 28-day blocks

Permanent, full-time role with long-term contract stability

Key Responsibilities

- You’ll be responsible for maintaining a high-speed automated system in a live operational workplace.
- Breakdown response and fault finding
- Preventative and corrective maintenance
- Working across conveyors, cranes, and automated truck loading systems
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and control system faults




- Updating work orders in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Supporting system performance, reliability and safety targets

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Experience in automation, logistics, or manufacturing environments
- Strong fault-finding capability (mechanical, electrical or mechatronic)
- Experience using a CMMS system
- Ability to work independently in a live operational site
- Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSD) Pneumatics and hydraulics.
