Medical Receptionist/ Medical Administration (F/T or P/T)

ACT Day Hospital is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art multispecialty day hospital located in the heart of Deakin, Canberra. Our modern facility has been designed to deliver exceptional patient care through advanced technology, efficient clinical workflows, and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Liaising closely with the Peri operative liaison Nurse regarding surgical booking enquiries.

Conducting online health fund eligibility checks.

Preparing uninsured facility quotations.

Taking electronic payment at time of procedure.

Managing Informed Financial Consent documentation.

Responding to patient and clinician enquiries via telephone and email.

Scanning and uploading documentation into the FYDO practice management system.

Accurate data entry and maintenance of patient records.

Providing administrative support to ensure efficient patient flow and surgical scheduling.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:





Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Professional telephone manner and strong communication skills.

Ability to prioritise competing tasks in a busy environment.

Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Sound administrative and computer skills.

Previous experience in medical administration (highly regarded).

Experience using FYDO practice management software (preferred).

Experience with surgical bookings, health fund eligibility checks, uninsured quotes, and patient financial discussions will be highly regarded.
