About the Role

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will be responsible for driving workplace health, safety, environmental, and return-to-work initiatives across the business. This is a hands-on role requiring regular interaction with employees, supervisors, and management to ensure compliance, promote best practice, and foster a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain compliance with relevant WHS, environmental, quality, and legislative requirements
- Manage and continuously improve the WHS Management System in line with ISO 45001 standards
- Coordinate safety training programs and support the implementation of corrective actions and system improvements




- Oversee all aspects of workers' compensation and return-to-work programs, working closely with managers and injured workers
- Develop, review, and maintain WHS documentation, including SWMS, JSEAs, risk assessments, and procedures
- Prepare and manage WHS documentation for tenders, prequalification submissions, and online contractor management systems
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and site visits to ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements
- Investigate incidents and ensure timely reporting, corrective actions, and KPI tracking
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on WHS matters and risk management strategies
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

- Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety
- Current Return to Work Coordinator certification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS role within construction, manufacturing, engineering or a related industry
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation, workers' compensation processes, and ISO management systems
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies, procedures, and management systems
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and build positive working relationships
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent investigation, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Passionate about workplace safety and committed to driving positive safety outcomes across the organisation.
